Short Distance Child Relocation

June 9, 2016 – at 2:56 am – by Bodekers Family Lawyers

Each person’s situation is different. A short distance relocation such as moving house to the same or nearby suburb may or may not have an impact on your child.

You may consider parenting orders which might apply to you.

In determining the effects of relocating, you might also consider the impact it could have on the other parent’s ability to spend time with the child.

Another consideration could be the impact it will have on the child attending school and their extracurricular activities.

Child relocation matters can be complex and consequences for breaching a court order can be severe and may affect your ability to spend time with your child.

We therefore recommend you seek early legal advice from one of our very experienced Perth family lawyers. We invite you to discuss your particular matter with our Legal Practitioner Director, Ms. Shannon Bodeker, who has been working in family law for over 20 years and has High Court experience in child relocation.
