A Binding Financial Agreement is a written agreement outlining how assets and liabilities are to be divided in the event that a relationship breaks down. It may also be used to formalise an existing agreement between parties regarding the division of assets and liabilities.
Binding Financial Agreements can be made by married and de facto partners. Having one may be preferable to the time and expense of going to court for property settlement orders.
