Child Relocation Perth – Effect of a Location Order

Location orders fall under child relocation. When a child is relocated the Family Court of Western Australia may make a location order to find the child. It involves a person or appropriate authority of the Commonwealth being legally required to provide information about the child’s location.

A location order may be applied for by a person with parental responsibility of or lives, spends time or communicates with a child in accordance with a parenting order. A grandparent of the child or other person concerned with the care, welfare or development of the child may also apply.

A person or appropriate authority of the Commonwealth referred to in a location order is to provide the information sought as soon as practicable, or as soon as practicable after obtained.
